Hayate the Combat Butler Artist Kenjirou Hata, Seiyu's Life Author/Voice Actress Masumi Asano Marry

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Seiyu's Life manga author Masumi Asano and artist Kenjirō Hata confirmed on Twitter on Monday that they recently married. The 151st episode of Asano and accountant Shinya Yamada's "Asano Masumi x Yamada Shinya no Shūkan Money Land" (Masumi Asano and Shinya Yamada's Weekly Money Land) radio program first announced the marriage on Monday. Asano and Hata confirmed that they plan to support each other and continue with their careers as before.

Asano provided the story for the Seiyu's Life manga about rookie voice actresses that Hata illustrated. In addition, Asano has worked on manga such as Partner, Hiyoko no Arukikata, and Uru wa Sorairo Majo. She is a prominent voice actress and played minor roles in the 2015 television anime adaptation of Seiyu's Life. She also voiced Risa Asakaze in the various anime adaptations of Hata's Hayate the Combat Butler manga. Asano's other anime roles include Ikki Tousen's Hakufu Sonsaku, Keijo!!!!!!!!'s Kyōko Shirayuki, Blood-C's Yūka Amino, and Psycho-Pass 2's Risa Aoyanagi.

Hata will launch a new manga titled Tonikaku Kawaii (Generally Cute) in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine on Wednesday. The series' English subtitle is "Fly Me to the Moon," and the visual shows a "mysterious girl." The magazine's tagline says the series is "packed with love and dreams."

Hata launched the Hayate the Combat Butler manga in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2004, and ended it in April 2017. Shogakukan published the final two compiled volumes, the 51st and 52nd, in limited editions with side stories.

The manga has inspired four television anime seasons in 2007, 2009, 2012, and 2013, as well as a three-episode OVA in 2014. The manga also inspired the Hayate the Combat Butler! Heaven Is a Place on Earth anime film in 2011.
