Join Voice Actor Tasuku Hatanaka in the Virtual Reality Kitchen

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The VR Party app is continuing its seiyū-centric experiences, this time with a focus on home cooking. Voice actor Tasuku Hatanaka, of Ushio & Tora, My Hero Academia, and King of Prism, will cook viewers up a dinner in the virtual world starting on May 23.

The virtual reality experience shows Tasuku make himself a meal, even chopping up onions, cook it to completion, praise himself, and then contently eat in front of the viewers. The VR experience is dubbed "Kitchen Boy."

VR Party announced its first seiyū virtual reality experience in March. That virtual reality simulation stars voice actor Hiro Shimono (Attack on Titan's Conny Springer, Utano☆Princesama Legend Star's Shō Kurusu, Berserk's Isidro) practicing lines in his own home. The work Shimono will rehearse in the VR experience is titled "Neko (Boku) wa Ningen (Kimi) ni Kokonatsu no Koi o Suru" and apparently centers on a cat (Shimono) falling in love with humans ("you") nine times. The VR experience will offer Shimono's rehearsal of the story in three parts. To view and hear the experience, people must download the VR Party app, download it onto their smartphone, and use the included paper goggles.

The first part of Shimono VR experience is a starter kit with goggles to construct, a VR content download key code, and a tin badge and signed bromide as bonuses depending on the retailer people purchase the set from. The starter kit will ship on April 25 for 2,979 yen (about US$28). The second and third parts of the VR experience, which will not bundle goggles, will cost 2,300 yen (about US$21) each, and they will ship on May 23 and June 20, respectively.

VR Party is also accepting recommendations for who users want to see in virtual reality next.
