Gunbuster Anime Inspires Captain's Hat, T-Shirts, Backpack

The Gunbuster anime is rolling out new merch this summer. Select Gee! Store and Cospa locations in Japan, as well as the retailers' online shops, will begin offering the items on July 7. In the anime, Noriko and Kazumi returned to Earth on July 7.
The anime's mecha designer Kōichi Ōhata provided the designs for T-shirts. The T-shirts will be available in white or black and cost 3,132 yen (about US$28) each.
The Exelion 2way Backpack can be worn on a fan's back or carried as a tote bag. The bag will only come in navy, have a capacity of about 18 liters (about 0.64 cubic feet), and cost 4,212 yen (about US$38).
A hat inspired by the one Exelion's Captain Tatsumi Tashiro wears in the anime will also be available. It will feature an embroidered insignia on the front and a chin strap. The adjustable hat will cost 3,888 yen (about US$35). A sample will be on display at Cospa Akihabara in Tokyo until July 29.
The T-shirts and bag are slated for release in early September, followed by the hat in late October.
