Legendary Armor Samurai Troopers Anime Gets 30th Anniversary Event

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The Legendary Armor Samurai Troopers anime is getting a dedicated shop event at the main Animate store in Ikebukuro, Tokyo from October 27 to November 11. The event will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the anime's broadcast debut in 1988.

The anime's design materials and illustrations will be on display. Merchandise available for purchase will include tin badges with illustrations by Akane, clear files, smartphone cases, mobile batteries, masking tape, stickers, business card holders, blankets, and pumpkin soup. People who purchase designated items will also receive bonus items that feature the anime's illustrations.

Though the main event will be held in Tokyo, five other Animate stores throughout Japan will also sell the special merchandise and offer the bonus items. In addition, a 30th anniversary Blu-ray Disc box set for the anime will ship in Japan on December 5.

Sunrise created the Yoroiden Samurai Troopers action television anime in 1988-1989, and Cartoon Network ran it as Ronin Warriors in the United States. Crunchyroll began streaming the series in the United States and Canada in 2017. Bandai Entertainment previously released the series on DVD, and Discotek Media released the full series on DVD with English subtitles in 2015.

Discotek also released the Samurai Troopers OVA series with both English and Japanese audio.
