First Look at Arina Tanemura's Character Designs for Alice Closet Mobile Game

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Earlier this month DMM Games announced plans for its Alice Closet dress-up mobile game and that Phantom Thief Jeanne manga artist Arina Tanemura is signed on for the game's original character designs. Over the last week, the official Twitter account for the game began revealing the designs for potential players with additional info about each character from the original key art.

The first "flower doll" or "Alice" is named Sakura. She's characterized by her light pink hair that is "reminiscent of cherry blossom petals fluttering in the breeze."

The second "Alice" is named Iris. Her hair color is like "clear water."

The third "Alice" is Margaret. Her hair color is like "warm sunshine."

The staff also introduced the character Shiki Usami who appears to take some inspiration from Alice in Wonderland's White Rabbit. Born on September 16, Shiki is a kind young man but is always hurrying about. His birth flower is the Japanese gentian. He will often be flustered about the location (and lack of) tea in his pot.

The game is slated to debut on Android and iOS devices and as a PC browser game next year. The game puts players in charge of dressing up a mysterious "Flower Dolls" referred to as "Alices" in the world of Wonderland. The player is transported to picture book-like Wonderland from the modern world by accident. Once there, they discover that flower dolls dress up for battle against one another. The player takes charge of flower dolls and traverses Wonderland while battling opponents.

The Alice Closet game will have a booth at this year's Anime Girls Fest on November 10-11. Visitors can drop by the booth to get a free clear file and leaflet featuring key art by Tanemura.

Tanemura previously worked on character designs for Bandai Namco Games's IDOLiSH7 male idol game and is also the creator of the Phantom Thief Jeanne, Time Stranger Kyoko, Full Moon O Sagashite, and Idol Dreams manga series.
