Kaito Kid 'Steals' Detective Conan 2019 Film Visual

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Detective Conan's long-time adversary Kaito Kid is at it again, this time making off with the key visual for the Detective Conan 2019 film. The film's production committee announced that the thief stole the new visual, said to be drawn by series creator Gōshō Aoyama, before it was revealed Instead, staff released an "emergency visual" until the proper poster art is recovered.

The child-like drawing appears to show a distressed Conan flanked by Kaito Kid and Ran Mouri with two smaller, upset characters above him. The word "kobushi" (lit. "fist", or "samurai") is written beneath Conan. There's also something that looks like a table or UFO.

This marks the second heist by Kaito Kid this year. The character allegedly made off with Conan Edogawa statue that normally stands in front of the YTV network's headquarters in Osaka in July.

Kaito Kid's note left in place of the statue read, "The small detective has kindly let me take care of him... so he doesn't cause trouble in theaters next spring."
