Girls' Last Tour Manga's Twitter Account Hints at 'Reboot'

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The official Twitter account for the Girls' Last Tour manga series posted a conspicuous message on Thursday that has left fans scratching their heads. The message reads "Now Loading…20181227REBOOT" with no further details. Fans are speculating on what the announcement, presumably set for December 27, could be. Some ideas include a new anime or manga work or simply a re-run of the original series.

The original 12-episode anime series adapted Tsukumizu's manga and aired from October 2017 to December 2017. Tsukumizu's manga ended not long after the anime series.

The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where Chito and Yuuri are still alive. They hop aboard their beloved Kettenkrad motorbike and aimlessly wander the ruins of the world they once knew. Day after hopeless day, they look for their next meal and fuel for their ride. But as long as the two are together, even an existence as bleak as theirs has a ray or two of sunshine in it, whether they're sucking down their fill of soup or hunting for machine parts.

Amazon's now-defunct Anime Strike service streamed the series as it aired.

Sentai Filmworks will release the anime in a premium box set collection and a standard complete collection on January 29. The premium box set will include a storyboard booklet, a special booklet, a metal dog tag, sticker sets, and a double-sided reversible cover.
