Publisher Hayakawa Shobo released an animated PV for Iori Miyazawa's Otherside Picnic novel last Wednesday. The one-minute video combines animated and live-action footage.

The original novel is set in the modern world, but there exist doors that can take people to the "other side," where strange urban legends and internet stories prove to be true. College student Sorawo Kamikoshi finds herself exploring one of these doors, and almost dies on the other side, when she is rescued by another girl named Toriko Nishina. Toriko is mysterious but skilled with a gun, and she seems to be searching for someone else on the other side. Together, both girls explore these doors to the other side.

Hayakawa Shobo published Urasekai Picnic - Futari no Kaii Tanken File (Otherside Picnic: Their Strange Exploration Files), the first book in the series, in February 2017 with illustrations by shirakaba. The fourth book, titled Urasekai Picnic - Urasekai Yakō (Otherside Picnic: Otherside Night Travel), shipped in December. The series is licensed in English by J-Novel Club. The first e-book volume released in September.

Eita Mizuno (Spiral) is drawing the manga adaptation of the novel, which launched in Square Enix's Shonen Gangan magazine in February 2018.
