Franchise centers on girls in jockey school aiming to win horse races

The official website for GENCO and xarts' Girls Jockey franchise announced on Friday that the franchise's third picture drama DVD will include a 150-second short anime. The site is streaming a commercial previewing the anime.

The DVD ships on March 10, and contains episodes 17-24 of the picture dramas that continue the franchise's radio drama.

The franchise's story is set in the year 20XX. When a woman wins the Japan Derby for the first time, it leads to a big change in the image for the sport, with many girls wanting to become jockeys, and many girls enrolling in jockey schools with the aim to win the Japan Derby, Tenno Shō, Arima Kinen, Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, and other races.

Takao Yagi wrote the anime's script and Kotaro Shono (World’s End Harem (manga) designed the characters. The cast includes Momo Ishibashi as Ena Hiyoshi, Yuki Nagaku as Yukino Yoshijima, and Misaki Watada as Makoto Kuwazono.

The franchise had a radio drama that aired until June last year on Nippon Cultural Broadcasting's Chō! A&G+ digital radio station.
