Zakuro Creator/Penguindrum Designer Lily Hoshino Welcomes 2nd Child

Lily Hoshino, the manga artist behind Otome Yōkai Zakuro and character designer for Penguindrum, announced on March 6 that she "had a stomach ache" and was going to give birth to her second child. Approximately 18 hours later Hoshino wrote that her son was born safely in the middle of the night.
The new baby is Hoshino's second son and she described him as big and energetic.
Her Otome Yōkai Zakuro and Kigurumi Guardians (Kigurumi Bōei-tai) manga are both on hiatus. The 10th volume of Otome Yōkai Zakuro (pictured at right) shipped in March 2015. The third volume of Kigurumi Guardians shipped in April 2015. Kodansha Comics licensed Kigurumi Guardians and Amazon currently has a listing for a fourth volume slated for 2020.
Otome Yōkai Zakuro inspired a 13-episode television anime series that aired in 2010. NIS America released the anime on DVD in 2012.
Hoshino announced in January 2016 that she had gotten married.
