Hero Aims to Win the Ig Nobel Prize in Science Comedy Manga

Aspiring to win the Nobel Prize is an admirable dream, but manga protagonist Sōroku Inose is aiming a little lower. The science student tells his professor he wants to win "the most honorable prize in the world," the Ig Nobel Prize.
The manga's premise is based on a real award. The Ig Nobel is handed out to about 10 winners each year who manage to discover something considered scientifically inane. Real-life winners have earned the award for, say, using roller coasters to help pass kidney stones faster or measuring the cause and effects of yelling and swearing while driving.
The manga Ig Nobel wa Gas Mask ni Narundesu ka? (Ig Nobel: Can You Use a Bra as a Gas Mask?) by biki and Katsura Takada follows Inose's attempt to win the prize via erotically-charged research. The unpopular student is tasked by his professor to win the award in order to repay him and so turns his sights to erotic-themed questions.
The manga's first volume was released in Japan on April 9. The series is currently running in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine.
