Staff Announce Nanoha 15th Anniversary Event

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Organizers announced an event to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha anime franchise. The "Lyrical Live" event is set for January 18, 2020 at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Shibuya. Series voice actresses Yukari Tamura, Nana Mizuki, Kana Ueda, and more are scheduled to attend.

The first Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha television anime premiered in October 2004 and has since inspired three television anime, the ViVid Strike! spin-off anime, four anime films, and multiple manga series. The original anime follows Nanoha, an average third-grader but she's actually a magical girl. Her powers are granted by a ferret named Yūno who enlists Nanoha to help seal away magical jewels. The jewels were scattered over the Earth after an accident at a ruin the ferret was exploring. Things get trickier when a girl named Fate arrives to challenge Nanoha and Yūno's claim to the jewels.

The most recent film, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation, will be released on home video in Japan on June 19.
