Natsuzora Animator's 1st Solo Exhibition Opens May 30

23-year-old animator Hitomi Kariya will hold her first ever exhibition from May 30 to August 19 at Sasayuri Cafe in Nishiogikita, Tokyo. Kariya is notable for directing and designing the characters for the Ghibli-style opening for the live-action Natsuzora television drama. She also won this year's animator's award at the Tokyo Anime Awards 2019.
In this solo exhibition, Kariya's original illustrations and script over artwork for Natsuzora will be on display along with animation materials for Blade Smash mobile game. Kariya served as animation director for the game's opening sequence. Materials from a short animation Kariya produced while attending vocational school will be shown. Her other creative works like pottery and oil paintings will also be on display.
Visitors can purchase various goods featuring Kariya's artwork at the venue. During the exhibition, only one drink can be ordered at the cafe for visitors otherwise food and refreshments are not allowed.
