Evangelion Gets Samurai Armor Figure Designed by Afro Samurai's Takashi Okazaki

Toy and figure maker Sentinel announced at its 10th anniversary exhibit on Saturday that a samurai-themed Evangelion figure under the tentative name of "RIOBOT All-Purpose Human-Type Battle Weapon First Unit" has been greenlit. Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai, Batman Ninja) is credited for the design. No release date was given.

Sentinel's 10th Anniversary exhibit was held on June 15-16. Other new figures announced at the event include an SRX (Super Robot Type-X or X-Type) from the Super Robot Wars series. In-progress models that were displayed include a 1/12 scale Master Chief figure from the Halo video game series and a Johanna/Anat figure from Persona 5.
