Tokyo Ghoul manga creator Sui Ishida is busy. After wrapping up Tokyo Ghoul:re he signed on with Broccoli for its Jack Jeanne Nintendo Switch game. Last week his artwork for MIYAVI's new album NO SLEEP TILL TOKYO was revealed. Now Ishida's drawn the cover art for the Musical Touken Ranbu playbooks.
The books cover the first three stage musicals based on DMM's Touken Ranbu browser game: Touken Ranbu - Atsukashiyama Ibun (2016), Touken Ranbu - Bakumatsu Tenrōden (2016), and Touken Ranbu Mihotose no Komoriuta (2017). All three books will be released on July 18. The books contain information about the musicals and interviews with the scriptwriter and producer.
Fans that purchase all three books and this year's 33rd issue of Weekly Young Jump can enter to win posters of Ishida's cover artwork, a manuscript from the 2018 Paris performance of Touken Ranbu - Atsukashiyama Ibun, and a folding fan.
Touken Ranbu - Tsuwamono Domo ga Yume no Ato, the fourth stage musical, debuted in November 2017 and ran through January 2018. The fifth stage musical, Touken Ranbu: The Musical "Musubi no Hibiki, Hajimari no Ne," debuted in March 2018 and had its final performance in May 2018. The sixth musical will premiere in Osaka on August 3.
