Grimgar director Ryosuke Nakamura and character designer Mieko Hosoi created script and illustrations

Life is Tech! revealed during its Anime Expo panel that the Disney-themed Technologia School of Magic educational game, which promises to teach players JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Processing, and Shader, as well as game and web design, is slated for an August release in North America.

The game is directed by Yoshihisa Hashimoto, former Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at Square Enix and current CTO at Life is Tech!. The script is written by Ryosuke Nakamura and the illustrations are drawn by Mieko Hosoi. The two served as director and character designer respectively on Grimgar, Ashes and Illusions and Psychic School Wars.

The English release will retain the original Japanese voice actors, as listed below:

Reminiscent of Kingdom Hearts, which Hashimoto has also worked on, the game features a mix of Disney and original characters. The plot follows a normal high school boy named Akito who enters the school of magic, where he is tasked with solving a mystery. There will be 14 "quests," each with a different Disney-themed setting, from classics like Sleeping Beauty and Snow White to modern works such as Zootopia and Wreck it Ralph. According to Hashimoto, the game will have "hundreds" of hours of content to reflect the time it takes to develop strong coding skills.

The pricing for the English-language version of the game was not confirmed at the panel. The Japanese release cost 128,000 yen (US$1,181), or 4,600 yen (US$42) in monthly paid installments.
