Toei Issues Apology Amid Sexual Harassment Claims by G-Rosso Employee Eri Nakayama
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Toei has issued an apology on July 6 following sexual harassment allegations shared on social media by G-Rosso employee Eri Nakayama. Nakayama claimed that while employed at the hero show theater she was allegedly groped, asked inappropriate questions, and called names relating to male genitalia by six coworkers.
Investigation into Nakayama's claims by Toei found that the incidents involved one employee from Toei Advertising and five employees from affiliate companies. Toei wrote in it statement that it will punish the six individuals responsible for the harassment accordingly. Toei also plans to implement new measures to prevent further harassment in the future. Those measures include mandatory harassment training for hero show staff, creating an ongoing harassment training program, hiring an outside company contact for staff to report incidents anonymously, and hire a third party to conduct investigations.
The G-Rosso theater in Tokyo is home to many Toei-produced hero shows, including Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger.
