Manga artist and character designer Arina Tanemura is celebrating the last 20 years of her career. Animate Cafe is honoring the Phantom Thief Jeanne and Full Moon o Sagashite creator with a collaboration menu and merchandise for her fans at five locations from September 5 to September 24.
The cafe will focus on seven of Tanemura's most notable works including ION, Phantom Thief Jeanne, Time Stranger Kyoko, Full Moon o Sagashite, Sakura Hime: The Legend of Princess Sakura, The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross, and Neko to Watashi no Kinyōbi. The cafe will offer nine menu items, including desserts, based on the stories. Additionally, there's a drink menu full of fancy options. Customers that order any of the menu items will receive one of seven coasters depicting cover art from Tanemura's manga.
Visitors can pick from exclusive merchandise including cookies and made-to-order framed art. The artwork can be purchased in advance at the cafe and then will ship out in November. Buyers can earn stamps for each 2,000 yen purchase at the cafe. After acquiring three stamps, customers will receive one of 11 character charms.
The Arina Tanemura 20th Anniversary Exhibition first opened in Tokyo in 2017 followed by a run in Aichi in 2018.
Tanemura has previously designed characters for DMM Games' Alice Closet dress-up mobile game and Bandai Namco Games's IDOLiSH7 male idol game. She is also the creator of the Phantom Thief Jeanne, Time Stranger Kyoko, Full Moon O Sagashite, and Idol Dreams manga series.
