Naruto Gets New Merch With Art by Masashi Kishimoto for 20th Anniversary

posted on by Kim Morrissy
Merch will be sold at Naruto to Boruto the Live 2019 event in October

New Naruto merch featuring art drawn by series creator Masashi Kishimoto will be sold at the "Naruto to Boruto the Live 2019" event on October 5 and 6, celebrating the series' 20th anniversary. The artwork, which depicts Naruto holding out his fist with the number 20 written on it, will be used on shirts and clear files.

The Naruto to Boruto the Live 2019 event will take place in Chiba's Makuhari Messe. Theme song performers of the Naruto and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime will perform live on each day of the event. The anime's voice actors will also perform a dramatic reading of an original story, and stage actors will perform a "live spectacle" musical show.

Naruto first began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2000. The manga concluded in 2014. Ukyō Kodachi and Mikio Ikemoto launched the Boruto manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2016, based on and as a sequel to Naruto. Both series have spawned multiple anime, anime films, OVA, and game adaptations.
