Assassins Pride Voice Actors Roleplay as Lovers With Show's Viewers in Special Livestream

The "Ano ko wa manga wo yomanai" (That girl does not read manga) TV program held a special spinoff program dedicated to the Assassins Pride anime on Monday. Voice actors Yuuki Ono (Kufa Vampir) and Tomori Kusonoki (Melida Angel) were given the challenge of doing ad-lib roleplays with viewers of the program. The theme of the roleplay was pretending to be lovers with the caller. The program was livestreamed on YouTube.

The "romances" between the voice actors and their untrained callers were, as you may imagine, amusingly awkward. As they spoke, a buzzer would constantly blare out, indicating that they were not doing well. Ono attracted a number of female callers, indicating the anime's surprising popularity with women. The show also featured comedians Yūki Iwai as the MC and Yū Yashiro as a guest.

There will be a second Assassins Pride spinoff program on November 30, which will dissect the themes and standout elements of Kei Amagi's original light novel and Yoshie Katō's manga adaptation. It will feature Yuuki Ono, Assassins Pride director Kazuya Aiura, and light novel critic Aki Enomoto. Voice actor Natsuki Hanae, TBS television announcer Misato Ugaki, and comedian Yūki Iwai will be the MCs. The show will broadcast on BS Nippon TV at 11:30 pm.

The Assassins Pride anime premiered on October 10. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime, and it will stream on Crunchyroll as it airs in Japan. Sentai Filmworks describes the story:

In a world where only nobles wield the sacred power of mana to wage war against the creatures of darkness, a curious absence of ability places young Merida in a precarious position. Under the guise of tutelage, Kufa, a ruthless assassin, is sent to assess Merida's abilities and determine if she is the true-born heir of the prestigious Angel family. If she does not measure up to her family's expectations, another, more ruthless plan will be set in motion…
