Comedy manga artist Tooru Seino (Uhyo! Tokyo-to Kita-ku Akabane, Sono "Okodawari", Ore ni mo Kure yo!!) announced his marriage to actress Mitsu Dan (Amai Muchi, Hanako to Anne) on Twitter on Friday. Seino seemed incredulous in his post that a "small-time cult manga artist" like himself married Mitsu Dan. They registered their marriage at the Kita Ward office in Tokyo.
Seino wrote that he's "lucky" since he had given up on marriage at all about three years ago. He plans to continue to draw "silly manga" while living in Akabane, Tokyo.
Mitsu Dan (39) made her acting debut in 2012 and was awarded Newcomer of the Year at the the 37th Japan Academy Prize ceremony for her part in Takashi Ishii's thriller Amai Muchi. She has since starred in the live-action television adaptation of Yukari Koyama and artist Eliza Kusakabe's Holiday Love: Fūfukan Ren'ai manga and the live-action GTO television remake special, among other films and television series.
