Japanese Box Office, September 29-30: Eva Down to #8

posted on by Egan Loo
The first of four Evangelion movie remakes, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, drops from #4 to #8 on the top ten chart of the Japanese box office for the weekend of September 29 to 30. Four new movies opened this past weekend, including two American ones (#2's Perfect Stranger and #5's No Reservations) and one French (#7's La Môme or La Vie En Rose). In its fifth week, the Evangelion movie is now the only anime- or manga-related movie in the top ten, since Hama-chan Suu-san Seto no Yakusoku, the 18th live-action film adaptation of the Tsuri Baka Nisshi ("Diary of a Fishing Fool") gag manga for men, dropped from #9 off the chart.
