Viz Licenses Trinity Blood Manga for Digital Release
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Viz Media confirmed its license of Sunao Yoshida and Kiyo Kyujyō's Trinity Blood manga on Tuesday. The title will receive a digital-only release on June 24. Yoshida's original light novel series inspired a 24-episode television anime by Gonzo in 2005.
The Trinity Blood manga and Yoshida's light novel series were licensed by Tokyopop before the company ceased publishing in the United States in 2011. Viz Media describes the story:
In a dark and distant future, Armageddon has given rise to the fabled Second Moon – and a perpetual war between the vampires and the humans! Esther is a nun in the city of Istavan. When she crosses paths with Abel Nightroad, a priest sent from the Vatican to combat the local order of vampires, the pair forms a holy alliance to battle the most evil of threats
Viz Media previously picked up former Tokyopop manga titles Chibi Vampire and D.N.Angel for digital release. The company also announced the first volume of Takaya Kagami, Yamato Yamamoto, and Daisuke Furuya's Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign manga is available digitally and in print. Viz will also release the "Boys Over Flowers Jewelry Box" one-shot by Yōko Kamio on June 10 and Takeshi Obata's All You Need Is Kill volume 1 on June 19 digitally.
