TV anime adapting syn Sophia's new game for girls premieres next month

A bonus PriPara newspaper bundled with the July issue of Shogakukan's Ciao magazine announced on Tuesday that a manga series based on the anime will debut in the next issue, which will ship on July 3. Manga creator Hitsuji Tsujinaga confirmed on Twitter on Monday that she is illustrating the series.

The cast will star three of the members from the idol group i☆Ris:

Himika Akaneya as Lala Manaka, a 5th grader at Paprika Academy. Bright and cheerful, she enjoys playing by being active. Her catchphrase is, "'stood!" (Short for 'understood')

Miyu Kubota as Sophie Hōjō, an 8th grader at Paprika Academy. She has been doing work as an idol since she was very young, and has a high popularity. She is the admiration of the academy's students.

Yū Serizawa as Mirei Minami, a 7th-grader at Paprika Academy. Very good with her mind, she is the captain of the disciplinary committee. Her catchphrase is, "Just as I calculated," or, "Outside of my calculations..."

i☆Ris will perform the opening theme, while Pretty Rhythm girls' group Prizmmy☆ will perform the ending theme.

The story revolves around Lala, an elementary school girl who wants to become an idol in PriPara, a sport that judges girls on their song, dance, and fashion. The invitation to the sport is through a PriPara ticket. Even though elementary school students are not allowed to become PriPara idols, through many events, she passes the audition, and becomes an idol.

The television anime adaptation of syn Sophia's newest game franchise for girls will premiere in Japan on July 5.
