Artist of Sega Hard Girls, Copihan, Straight Title Robot Anime to appear at July event

The organizers of J-Pop Summit announced on Wednesday that they will host Hatsune Miku character illustrator KEI at the July 18-19 event in San Francisco. SEGA of America will have a booth and will demo Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F 2nd, the latest in its series of rhythm games featuring the music of Hatsune Miku and other Vocaloid virtual idols.

Besides designing the look of Hatsune Miku for Crypton Future Media, KEI designed Gonzo's anime Copihan and drew the accompanying manga. He also designed Straight Title Robot Anime, the television anime produced with the CG software MikuMikuDance. More recently, his anthropomorphized girl designs of Sega game hardware is inspiring the Sega Hard Girls anime and novel series. He has drawn manga for Hatsune Miku, including one that will launch on July 10 — one week before KEI's San Francisco appearance.

KEI will sign autographs for the first 100 people who buy his Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F or Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F 2nd art books at Kinokuniya's booth (next to Sega's booth) at J-Pop Summit. His autograph sessions are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on both days. (Buyers will also receive a free Hatsune Miku poster with their purchases.)

J-Pop Summit will also host singer May'n (Macross Frontier, Accel World, Phi-Brain - Puzzle of God, Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Inari Kon Kon, M3 - Sono Kuroki Hagane). Japan Film Festival, a sister event of J-Pop Summit, will screen live-action and anime films between July 19 and 27.
