North American anime distributor Discotek Media announced on Monday that it licensed the The Super Dimension Century Orguss television anime series. The company plans to release the series with English dub (only on the first 17 episodes) and Japanese audio and English subtitles next year.

The 35-episode series follows fighter pilot Kei Katsuragi and his friend Orson who go on a mission to escort the deployment of a new space-time oscillation bomb inside enemy territory. However, a mistake causes the bomb to explode, scrambling time, space and different dimensions. Now in a completely alien and unfamiliar environment, Kei meets the Emarn, a group of technologically advanced gypsy traders, and begins his search for a way to restore time and space.

Discotek will release the series with US Renditions' 17-episode English dub. The series was previously released on DVD and broadcast on U.S. TV by ImaginAsian Entertainment.
