Last Evangelion Manga Volume's Bonus Story Features New Character
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
A flyer handed out at the Evangelion Exhibit event in Yokohama, Kannagawa Prefecture reveals that a new, original female character will make an appearance in the bonus manga that will be bundled with the limited edition of the 14th and final volume of Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's Neon Genesis Evangelion manga. The character is being featured on a flyer advertising the limited edition of the volume, and the message on the paper reads, “Yoshiyuki Sadamoto gives you rough illustrations as he heads toward the limited edition of the manga.”
In addition to the new manga, the limited edition of the final volume will bundle an original cover, book ends for the entire 14-volume set, a booklet with about 16 pages and exclusive illustrations by Sadamoto, and a "Yoshiyuki Sadamoto Working Music CD." The CD will feature music that the creator liked to listen to when he was drawing manga.
Sadamoto launched the manga in the third issue ever published of Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in December of 1994 — before the anime premiered on television. It then ran on and off for over 18 years. He ended the manga's magazine run last June.
