Game Publisher Atlus Japan began streaming a character promotional video featuring Persona 4 The Golden's Marie for its upcoming 2D fighting game Persona 4 Arena Ultimax on Thursday. Marie will be featured in the game as a playable fighter accessible as DLC.
Marie: We were able to meet again... Welcome back. I never forgot.
Marie: It's this room's rules, so I can't talk specifics. But... You already noticed, right? That something crazy is starting to happen in this town.
Marie: ...! You stupid dense, zero tact, airhead love machine! You're too honest... Idiot.
Marie: ...Go on. You're the one who can do this. One more thing: The culprit in this case is...
Marie: That pain is eternal! The tsundere poem-er of the empty forest! Marie!
Marie: That fog isn't something I know... Why...?
Marie: Is this what they call a trial?
Marie: If you try and destroy this town... My town that I spent time in with everyone... I definitely won't forgive you. The story definitely won't end here. Right?
Marie: I'll teach you the single truth!
Marie: 'Don't cry,' and 'Thank you, baby.'
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, the PlayStation 3 port of an arcade game, will ship in Japan on August 28 as Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultrasuplex Hold and Atlus will ship the game in North America on September 30. First copies will come with a code to download an extra scenario set for the game. Tōru Adachi and Marie from Persona 4 will appear as playable DLC characters.
The story takes place only a few days after the events of Persona 4 Arena, when the town of Inaba is clouded in a shroud of red fog in which time is warped and people disappear. Inaba has almost become like the world inside the television. To add to it all, the members of the Persona 4 team find Mitsuru and Akihiko being crucified on the Midnight Channel. In front of the Inaba students appear Yukari and Junpei, members of the Shadow Worker unit who have come to the rural town in order to save their upperclassmen.
Atlus released the first Persona 4 Arena (Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena) game for Japan in 2012 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, and Atlus USA released the game in North America less than two weeks later.
