Legendary Pictures Tease More Monsters After Godzilla

Legendary Pictures showed a new Project Monarch teaser video at its Comic-Con International panel on Saturday. The video featured classic monsters from Toho's monster franchises including Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah. Legendary Pictures elaborated that these are monsters they want to use in the future. Japan's Toho Studios is open to letting them, but nothing has been green-lit yet. The video is similar to those used to promote this year's Godzilla film.
"Monarch" was introduced in Gareth Edwards' Godzilla remake film that opened in theaters earlier this year. The name refers to a fictional group created to study Godzilla and M.U.T.O. (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms).
The entertainment trade news source Variety reported in May that Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. are "moving forward" with a sequel to Edwards' Godzilla film.
Bandai Namco is producing a PlayStation 3 game slated for release in Japan in this winter.
