The series previously spawned a 26-episode anime series in 2007 and a manga sequel, Wangan Midnight C1 Runner. Kusonoki's other works include Eight, Aitsu to Lullaby which was adapted into an anime film and live-action movie, and Shakotan Boogiewhich inspired a 4-episode OAV.
Niwa Tanba will start Tokusatsu Gagaga, a comedy about a 26-year-old Tokusatsu fan.
Toshikiri Hamamura will write and Mikado Muramasa will draw Eroge no Taiyō, a "serious business drama" about a coldhearted businessman and an erotic game company full of women.
The magazine's 39th issue will also debut a new series on August 25. Yukio Tamai (Kamome Chance, Omega Drive) will write and draw Kedamame, which follows a mysterious man during the Kamakura period.
