Eagle Talon's DLE also remakes game into smartphone app to promote Q Transformers toys

The 1986 Famicom (Nintendo Entertainment System) game The Transformers: Mystery of Convoy is inspiring both a television anime next January and a smartphone game app on Thursday. The Flash anime studio DLE (Eagle Talon) said that it recreated Takara's "legendary impossible-to-beat game" into its new app Q Transformers: Kaetekita Convoy no Nazo (Q Transformers: The Return of the Mystery of Optimus Prime).

The new app promotes Q Transformers, this fall's line of toys that transform from super-deformed vehicles into robots. The new toy line marks the 35th anniversary of the Choro-Q toy car line and 30th anniversary of The Transformers toy robot line. In the new game, players can jump and transform to clear the field area of each stage before facing familiar enemies in the boss area.

An August 10 stage event at the Transformers Expo at Pacifico Yokohama will unveil more details about the anime version. The guests will include actress Natsuki Katō, Famicom entertainer Fujita, anime director Kōtarō Ishidate, and voice actor Ryohei Kimura.

The Android version of the game app is now available for free, and the iOS version will be available on Saturday.
