Arakawa Slows Down Arslan Manga Due to Relative in Hospital

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Hiromu Arakawa is announcing in the September issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine magazine on Saturday that the next chapters of her manga adaptation of acclaimed fantasy novel series The Heroic Legend of Arslan by Yoshiki Tanaka (Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Sohryuden - Legend of the Dragon Kings, Tytania) will be shorter than usual. The image shows the manga's main character, Prince Arslan, pushing his father King Andragoras on a gurney.

Arakawa announced in the 36th and 37th issue of Shogakukan's Shonen Sunday magazine that she will slow the pace of her Silver Spoon manga due to the declining health of a family member. Arakawa will be taking the extra time to support the family member. She wrote, "For a little while, I'll be dropping the pace on serialization by quite a bit, but please bear with me."

The manga adaptation launched in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine last July and the second compiled volume shipped in Japan in May. Kodansha USA will release the series in print and digitally in North America on August 19.
