Vertical Licenses The Art of Makoto Shinkai Book

A Sky Longing for Memories with director's art to ship next May
North American publisher Vertical, Inc. announced at its Otakon panel on Saturday that it will publish A Sky Longing for Memories: The Art of Makoto Shinkai book next May. The book was previously released by Kodansha in 2008 under the title Shinkai Makoto Bijutsu Sakuhin-shū - Sora no Kioku ~The sky of the longing for memories~. Vertical's 160-page trade paperback release will retail for US$34.95.
The Japanese release features over 400 art pieces covering the director's early filmography, including Voices of a Distant Star, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, and 5 Centimeters Per Second. It also contains interviews with Shinkai and his key staff members.
