Comic Market 86 Draws 550,000 Across 3 Days

posted on by Egan Loo

The Comic Market 86 event reported an attendance of about 550,000 over the course of three days this past weekend. The total is 40,000 less than last summer's record total of 590,000 at Comic Market 84, but more than last winter's total of 520,000 at Comic Market 85.

The event reported 170,000 attendees on the first day, 170,000 again on the second day, and 210,000 on the third day. The third day's 210,000 total tied the one-day record set on Comic Market 82's last day (Summer 2012) and Comic Market 84's first and second day (Summer 2013). Comiket does not have unique passes for visitors, so a person who attends all three days would be counted three times.

About 11,800 circles had booths on Friday, followed by 11,700 circles and 11,500 circles on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, for a three-day total of 35,000.
