Pretty Rhythm characters Aira, Mia, Naru appear alongside Lala, Mirei, Sophie in trailer for spring film

Avex began streaming a teaser for the upcoming PriPara anime film on Tuesday. The video features PriPara characters Lala, Mirei, and Sophie, as well as a brief clip of Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream's Aira, Pretty Rhythm Dear My Future's Mia, and Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live's Naru. The clip in question debuted in the first episode of the anime.

The film is scheduled to open next spring.

The story of the television anime revolves around Lala, an elementary school girl who wants to become an idol in PriPara, a sport that judges girls on their song, dance, and fashion. The invitation to the sport is through a PriPara ticket. Even though elementary school students at her school are not allowed to become PriPara idols, through many events, she passes the audition, and becomes an idol.

The anime adapts syn Sophia's arcade game PriPara, and it stars:

Himika Akaneya as Lala Manaka, a 5th grader at Paprika Academy. Bright and cheerful, she enjoys playing by being active. Her catchphrase is, "'stood!" (Short for 'understood')

Miyu Kubota as Sophie Hōjō, an 8th grader at Paprika Academy. She has been doing work as an idol since she was very young, and has a high popularity. She is the admiration of the academy's students.

Yū Serizawa as Mirei Minami, a 7th-grader at Paprika Academy. Very good with her mind, she is the captain of the disciplinary committee. Her catchphrase is, "Just as I calculated," or, "Outside of my calculations..."

Chihiro Suzuki (Disgaea, Tales of the Abyss) plays Kuma (lit. 'bear'), Takuma Terashima (Sacred Seven, The IDOLM@STER) plays Usagi (lit. 'rabbit'), Urara Takano (Sakura Wars, Ah! My Goddess) plays Gloria Ogata, Kanae Itō (Shugo Chara!, Nanana's Buried Treasure) return from the earlier Pretty Rhythm franchise as the navigator Meganee Akai, and Junichi Suwabe (Bakuman., Fate/stay night) plays the new character Meganii Akai. Similar to Meganee, his name is a pun off of red glasses, and the fact that he is an older man.

i☆Ris performs the opening theme, while Pretty Rhythm girls' group Prizmmy☆ performs the ending theme.

The PriPara television anime just premiered on July 5.
