Yen Press Adds So I Can't Play H! Romantic Comedy Manga Series

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
1st volume slated for release on April 21, 2015

Yen Press confirmed with Anime News Network on Wednesday that it licensed Shō Okagiri's manga adaptation of the So, I Can't Play H! (Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai.) romantic comedy light novels by Pan Tachibana. The first volume of the manga is slated for release on April 21, 2015 and will retail for US$13.00.

The Amazon listing provides the story:

One fateful day, Ryousuke Kaga, a typical hopeless romantic and hopelessly perverted high school student, has a chance encounter in the rain with a beautiful girl. After graciously offering both his home for her to dry off in and his help for anything she might need, the mysterious red-eyed beauty thanks him by stabbing Ryousuke in the chest! To further complicate matters, the girl, Lisara Restole, is actually a shinigami--that is, a goddess of death--and Ryousuke has somehow unwittingly agreed to let her use his "essence" to remain in this world. But instead of shaving years off his life like one might expect of a typical shinigami, Lisara seems more interested in...leeching the letch right out of him?!

The manga adaptation ran in Fujimi Shobo's Dragon Magazine and the publisher has released five volumes so far in Japan. Tachibana launched the light novel series in 2010, and Fujimi Shobo's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint has published 11 volumes with illustrations by Yoshiaki Katsurai.

An anime adaptation premiered in 2012 and Sentai Filmworks released the series in North America last year.
