1st Dragon Ball fighting game on PC slated for early 2015

The North American and European branches of Bandai Namco Games began streaming the English-subtitled Tokyo Game Show trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse on Friday. The trailer reveals that the game will be available for PC on the Steam platform, in addition to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 consoles. The game is slated to ship in early 2015.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse will be the first Dragon Ball fighting game to get a PC release. The game will also be the first Dragon Ball title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The game will feature new characters, clockwise from top left:

  • Towa: A researcher for the dark world. She's seeks the destruction of history and an energy called "Kiri."
  • Mira: A powerful artificial life form. He aims to be the strongest, and works with Towa to destroy history.
  • Toki Toki: A mysterious life-form that can create time.
  • Toki no Kaiōshin (The Kai of Time): More than 75 million years old, the Kai of Time raised Toki Toki. She gathers the Dragon Balls to make a wish.

In the game, players take on the role of an original character who teams up with Trunks and the Kai of Time to stop Towa and Mira from changing the course of history in the Dragon Ball story.

Bandai Namco Games unveiled the game in Japan in May and announced in June that the game will receive a Western release.
