Manga artist signing will occur on October 10

The New York Super Week schedule announced that manga artist Takeshi Obata will appear at Japanese bookstore Kinokuniya in New York City for a manga signing on October 10, during the weekend of New York Comic Con. Attendees will need to purchase one of Obata's works to receive a signed shikishi signboard.

Obata collaborated with writers on various manga, including Death Note, Bakuman., Hikaru no Go, and Ral Ω Grad. Viz Media published all four manga titles in North America, as well as the Death Note anime, the live-action Death Note films, and the Hikaru no Go anime. Obata drew the manga adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka's All You Need Is Kill novel for Young Jump magazine this January. The novel inspired the American Edge of Tomorrow film which opened this June.
