Osamu Tezuka's Ludwig B Manga Gets Stage Play

A stage play adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's Ludwig B manga has been green-lit. The title of the play will be Ludwig B ~Beethoven Kanki no Uta~ (Ludwig B ~Beethoven's Ode to Joy~), and it will be held between November 27 and December 6 at the Tokyo Internation Forum Hall C, as well as at Osaka's Theater Brava! between December 11 and 14.
The play will star singer and member of the Johnny's band A.B.C-Z Ryosuke Hashimoto as Ludwig van Beethoven, and singer of the same boy band Fumito Kawai as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The two will perform piano live on stage. The cast will also star actor and singer Kōtarō Satōmi as Beethoven's father, actress Atsuko Asano as his mother, as well as Rina Chien and Nobuo Kyo.
The story of the original manga is based off of the classical musician and composer Ludwig von Beethoven and the struggles he faced throughout his life. The work was not completed before Tezuka's passing.
