Final Fantasy Explorers 3DS Game Adds Red Mage, Machinist Job Classes

Next week's issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is revealing on Monday that the Final Fantasy Explorers Nintendo 3DS game will have Red Mage and Machinist job classes. The Red Mage utilizes swords and consecutive magic attacks. The Machinist can quickly attack enemies in short bursts.
The game's "job system" is influenced by Final Fantasy V. Up to four players can form a party with white mages, black mages, monks, knights, archers, hunters, ninjas and paladins. The players' jobs will be familiar ones from the main Final Fantasy series.
The game will also have Odin with his horse Sleipnir and Amaterasu as summon beasts in the game. This is the first appearance for Amaterasu as a summon beast in a Final Fantasy title.
Square Enix filed a trademark for Final Fantasy Explorers in the United States on June 20. A price and release date for a Western release has yet to be announced.
The game is slated to ship in Japan on December 18.
