The Pokémon Company will distribute Shiny Charizards for players in Tokyo to celebrate the opening of a new Pokémon Center. The special Pokémon will hold a Charizardite Y stone, enabling one of Charizard's Mega Evolutions, and is available for players who visit any Pokémon Center from December 12 to January 16 at alternating hours between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
A Shiny Pikachu will also be available. Players will need a copy of Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire.
The new center is dubbed "Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo," and features Charizard and Pikachu on its logo. It is expected to open on December 7. Outside of the special Shiny Pokémon, the large shop will also offer visitors special "Mega Tokyo's Pikachu" trading card and matching bag as a free gift.
New merchandise includes the same Pikachu as a plush, a logo lanyard pin, a poncho to transform yourself into Charizard, luggage, and more.
In the world of GAME FREAK and Nintendo's Pokémon franchise, Pokémon Centers are where trainers heal and revive their injured Pokémon. In the real world, eight locations span across Japan to deliver exclusive goods and events. Fans have lined up for hours outside Pokémon Centers to get limited edition merchandise.
