Aniplex USA Adds Expelled from Paradise Anime Film

FMA director Mizushima & Madoka Magica writer Urobuchi's film to play in 15 U.S. theaters

Aniplex of America announced during its live streaming show on Wednesday that it will release the Rakuen Tsuihō - Expelled from Paradise anime movie. It will show the film in 15 theaters across the United States starting December 13, and moviegoers will receive a free exclusive poster, while supplies last. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday.

The film is the latest project from Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero), Nitroplus, Toei Animation, and director Seiji Mizushima's (first Fullmetal Alchemist anime, Gundam 00).

The film stars Rie Kugimiya as the female protagonist, Angela, and Shinichirō Miki as Dingo a.k.a. Zarik Kajiwara. Hiroshi Kamiya voices Frontier Setter, a hacker from the computer world challenging real life.

The science-fiction film just opened in theaters in Japan on Saturday. It ranked #9 for the weekend and earned 29,194,600 yen (about US$250,000) on just 13 theaters.

Aniplex also announced that the winner of its all-expenses-paid trip to next year's AnimeJapan convention is A. Orcasitas from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
