Band's music videos won awards at Annecy, Japan Media Arts Festival

Next year's second issue of Shueisha's Young Jump magazine is announcing on Thursday that the band amazarashi will perform the ending song for the second season based on Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul manga. The band will release the single "Kisetsu wa Tsugitsugi Shindeiku" (Seasons Dying One After Another) on February 18, 2015.

amazarashi is a mysterious band led by singer Hiromu Akita in Aomori Prefecture. The members have not officially been seen by the public and they perform behind a screen during their concerts. Their music videos often utilize computer graphics. The music video for "Waiting for the Summer" won the Excellence Award at the 14th Japan Media Arts Festival in 2010. The band was also awarded at Annecy International Animated Film Festival, SIGGRAPH ASIA 2011, and one dot zero 2011 in London.

Tokyo Ghoul √A (Root A) will premiere on January 8 on the Tokyo MX station. Tokyo's TOHO Cinemas Nihonbashi will host an advance screening of the first episode on January 4.

The magazine also announced that Ishida's original manga has over 9.3 million copies in circulation. Ishida ended the manga on September 18. Ishida then launched Tokyo Ghoul:re with a different lead character in October.
