Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song also gets digital re-release

Square Enix announced during its "SaGa 25th Anniversary" stream on Sunday that it will release a new installment in the SaGa video game series for PlayStation Vita in 2015. The company revealed two pieces of artwork for the new game.

The company also announced the Imperial SaGa PC game is slated for next year. Square Enix opened a teaser site for that game.

Square Enix released the Makai Tōshi SaGa (The Final Fantasy Legend in North America) in 1989. Since then, there have been many installments in the series, including ports and remakes. The last full-fledged SaGa game, Unlimited Saga, was released in 2003. A social game inspired by the games was released for Japanese mobile phones in 2012.

Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song, the PlayStation 2 remake of Romancing SaGa, will get a digital re-release as PS2 Classic via the PlayStation Store. The Square Enix eStore will also release a "Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song 25th Pack" that includes a game download code and a 1,000 piece puzzle on March 12, 2015.
