Zettai Karen Children spinoff aired in 2013

Sentai Filmworks announced on Tuesday that it has licensed the Zettai Karen Children (Psychic Squad) spinoff anime The Unlimited - Hyōbu Kyōsuke as Unlimited Psychic Squad. The company plans to release the series digitally and on home video.

Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in 2013.

Manglobe animated the series instead of Synergy SP, who animated the original Psychic Squad anime. Jun Takagi (Romeo × Juliet, Submarine 707R) designed the characters instead of Psychic Squad's Takahiro Kagami, Sayaka Ōhara replaced Saeko Chiba's original role as Momiji, one of the esper orphans Hyōbu adopted when she was young. Shishō Igarashi (Deadman Wonderland episode director, Armored Trooper Votoms Case;Irvine director), and Shinichi Inotsume (first Zettai Karen Children, Hayate the Combat Butler, Sket Dance) wrote series scripts.

Sentai Filmworks describes the series:

You don't have to be psychic to know that Hyobu Kyosuke is trouble waiting to happen, but having psychic powers of your own may be your only chance if you want to stand against him. One of the most powerful espers on the planet, Hyobu's incredible range of abilities extends as far as controlling his own aging process, and the potential strength of all his talents combined is so terrifying that he wears a device that limits their use except in cases of extreme emergency. The time is coming, however, when Hyobu will need to unleash everything he has. Because sometimes it takes a villain to do what heroes can't, and as the leader of the secret organization P.A.N.D.R.A., Hyobu's dedicated his life to fighting those who would entrap, enslave, or kill anyone with psychic powers. Now P.A.N.D.R.A. itself is in danger and, to combat that deadly threat, the gloves and limiter are coming off!

The original Psychic Squad anime, based on Takashi Shiina's manga, aired in 2008 in Japan, and is licensed by Sentai Filmworks for digital and home video release.
