Danganronpa AE Game Gets Spin-Off Manga in Dengeki Maoh

posted on by Sarah Nelkin
New manga by Kaoru Minamimachi is told from the viewpoint of Tōko Fukawa, Genocider Shō

The official blog for Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine announced on Thursday that an official spin-off manga of Spike Chunsoft's Zettai Zetsubō Shōjo: Danganronpa AE PlayStation Vita game titled Zettai Zetsubō Shōjo: Danganronpa AE - Genocider Mode will begin in the magazine's March issue, which is scheduled to be released in Japan on January 27. The manga penned by Kaoru Minamimachi will adapt the story of the game, but will be told from the view-point of Tōko Fukawa and her alter-ego Genocider Shō (Genocide Jill in the English version).

In the game's original story, Danganronpa protagonist Makoto Naegi's younger sister Komaru Naegi is finally released from a one-year stay in an enclosure after being kidnapped. However, she finds that the town she was sent to has been overrun by violent Monokumas, and is forced into joining a survival game in the town by a team of five children who seek to kill all adults and create a kingdom only for youngsters. In a tight situation, she is saved by Tōko Fukawa's personality Genocider Shō. Although Komaru doesn't know why, Tōko agrees to accompany her on her journey for safety.

The game was released in Japan for the PlayStation Vita on September 25. NIS America released the PlayStation Vita port of the first and second Danganronpa game in North America and Europe.

Update: Genocider's English name fixed. Thanks, doubleO7.
