Strange+ Creator Mikawa Ends Gakuen Tengoku Paradoxia Manga

posted on by Karen Ressler
Gag manga about a school full of spirits began in 2006

This year's February issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Rex published the final chapter of Verno Mikawa's Gakuen Tengoku Paradoxia gag manga last Saturday. The issue also announced that "the next work is coming soon."

In the manga's story, high school Demon Slayer Renji Sakagami comes to the evil spirit-infested Toyoashihara Academy to guard a girl... or that was what was supposed to happen. He finds the spirits live peacefully on campus, and has to learn to deal with odd spirits while protecting the peace.

Mikawa began the series in 2006 and Ichijinsha shipped the ninth compiled volume in June 2013.

Mikawa launched the slapstick detective manga Strange+ in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine in 2002, and has been drawing it ever since. The series inspired two anime seasons by anime studio Seven. Crunchyroll streamed both as they aired in Japan.

Mikawa is also writing Mimi Koko Momo in Gentosha's Comic Spica magazine.
