Assassination Classroom Manga Promo Recaps Premise

Shonen Jump began streaming a promotional video for the Assassination Classroom manga to celebrate the anime adaptation, live-action film, and 12 compiled volumes. The video gives a five-minute introduction to the story and announces that the series has over 12 million copies in print.
The video recaps the premise and goes on to introduce the other teachers, the students' test score contest with class A, guest characters, and the various school events in the series.
Viz Media published the first volume of the manga in North America earlier this month and describes the story:
A humorous and action-packed story about a class of misfits who are trying to kill their new teacher – an alien octopus with bizarre powers and super strength! The teacher has just destroyed the moon and is threatening to destroy the earth – unless his students can destroy him first. What makes things more complicated is that he's the best teacher they've ever had!
The anime adaptation of Assassination Classroom will premiere on January 9 and air late Friday nights on Fuji TV, and Funimation will stream the series as it airs. The live-action film adaptation is slated for March 21, 2015.
Matsui launched Assassination Classroom in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2012. The series ranked number seven in Japan's top-selling manga for 2013. It already inspired an event anime by director Keiji Gotoh (Kiddy Grade, Sengoku Collection, Uta∽Kata) and the studio Brains Base last year.
