The February issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Gene magazine announced on Thursday that Kairi Shimotsuki's Makai Ishi Mephisto (Hell Doctor Mephisto) will end in the magazine's next issue, which will ship on February 14.

Shimotsuki launched the manga in Monthly Comic Gene on 2011. She adapted it from Hideyuki Kikuchi's novel series of the same name. The original novels follow Doctor Mephisto, a practitioner of medicine and supernatural magic who has appeared in Kikuchi's other works such as Demon City Shinjuku, Darkside Blues, Demon Palace Babylon, and Yashakiden.

North American publisher Digital Manga Publishing licensed Kairi Shimotsuki's A Century of Temptation manga and published it in 2013. Her Brave10 S manga inspired a 12-episode television anime series, which Crunchyroll streamed in 2012. NIS America released a Blu-ray box of Brave10 in October 2013.

Tokyopop published Shimotsuki's Madness manga and acquired her first Brave10 manga series. (Tokyopop did not publish Brave10 before closing its North American division last month.) Digital Manga Inc. has published some of the novels and manga with appearances by Doctor Mephisto, such as Yashakiden. Udon Entertainment published Shimotsuki's Devil Kings Basara manga.
