Yatterman Night

Long long ago a pair of heroes known as Yatterman, the allies of justice finally vanquished the Doronbo gang and formed the Yatter Kingdom. Many years later the Yatter Kingdom is controlled by a tyrannical government that forces the citizens of Yatter into slavery. Meanwhile the descendants of the banished Doronbo gang are living a happy yet simple existence, but when young Leopard discovers that her mother is sick she heads out with her two friends to Yatter Land convinced that the heroic Yatterman will assist their plight. Little does Leopard know that the Yatterman of legend is no more and in order to restore justice to the world she must take up the mantle of her ancestor and lead the Doronbo gang in rebellion against the Yatter Kingdom.

Created in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Time Bokan franchise, this 12 episode series is being directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara at Tatsunoko Production. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Kamen no Maid Guy) is handling series composition, Keisuke Goto designed the characters and Tatsuya Katou (World Conquest Zvezda Plot) is composing the music. The band SCREEN mode performs the opening theme "Kyokugen Dreamer" (Limit Dreamer) and the voice actress group Sphere performs the ending theme, "Jōnetsu Continue" (Passion Continue).

The 40th anniversary refers to the Tatsunoko Productions' Time Bokan series of which Yatterman is one part. The first series, Time Bokan, premiered in October 1975 and ran for 61 episodes. Yatterman followed in 1977 spawning the first Yatterman anime film that same year and finishing it's run in 1979 having broadcast 108 episodes. Yatterman was then followed by Zendarman (Zenderman) in 1979, Time Patrol-Tai Otasukeman (Rescueman) in 1980, Yattodetaman in 1981, Gyakuten Ippatsu-man in 1982, Itadakiman in 1983. The franchise then did not have another TV series until Time Bokan 2000: Kaitō Kiramekiman was produced in 2000. Yatterman was then rebooted as a new televison series airing in Japan in 2008 for 60 episodes and was followed by an animated film in 2009. A live-action film also premiered in the same year.

The series premiered on January 11 on Tokyo MX and Funimation is streaming the series in North America.
